Oro Jin-Feng Silva is a Torontonian artist currently living in Chicago. He completed his high school education at Etobicoke School of The Arts in painting and is now a BFA candidate at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago where he studies painting and drawing. His work explores a range of themes including sex, sexuality, kink, fetish, identity, and desire. Oro’s paintings bring together narrative and pattern through hazy confrontational yet tender images that blend into flatness on the surface. They are comic and graphic and utilize absurd humour to ground their transgressive nature. Oro's work has been shown at Arts Etobicoke Gallery (Toronto), The School of The Art Institute of Chicago's Art Bash and The Chi-Town Get Down to benefit TransChicago gallery show.
